The Europeans

In autumn 1850, the lives of Boston's stern Mr. Wentworth are dramatically altered by the arrival of his orphaned niece and nephew, Eugenia and Felix, who have traveled from Europe to live with him.

In 1850, outside Boston, the Wentworth household is disrupted by the arrival of Eugenia and Felix, the half-sister's children from Europe. Gertrude, one of Mr. Wentworth's daughters, is captivated by her cousins' sophistication and falls for Felix, abandoning her suitor, the local minister. Meanwhile, Eugenia attracts the attention of wealthy neighbor Mr. Acton, who is unaware of her impending divorce from a European aristocrat.
