A young and sensitive teacher named Petr leaves Prague to start a new life in a rural town, where he befriends a widow named Marie and her teenage son Lada. As Petr settles into his new role, he must confront his past and the reasons he left Prague, all while navigating his relationships with the people around him, including his parents, his friend Mihi, and his weekend girlfriend Bara.
