The Banksy Job background

The Banksy Job

A cat-and-mouse game ensues between Banksy and the cunning thief AK47 after the theft of the artist's iconic "The Drinker" sculpture.

In March 2004, Banksy secretly installed a 10-foot statue, "The Drinker", a parody of Rodin's "The Thinker" with a traffic cone on its head, in a London square. The only clue to the artist's identity was a stencil on the plinth with the name "Banksy". Thieves later stole the statue, and a ransom note from AK47, claiming to represent "ART KAIDA", was sent to a national newspaper. After years of negotiation, it was alleged that Banksy arranged for the statue's destruction. Now, AK47 is set to revive the saga.
