For over 400 years, the Shinobi warriors of the Manjidani Koga and Tsubagakure Iga clans have been at war. Lord Hattori Hanzou decrees peace, and both clans live in hiding, refraining from training ninjas and confronting each other. However, in 1614, the Lord's advisor plots to destroy the clans' strongest warriors in a competition. Amidst this, young Iga Oboro and Koga Gennesuke fall in love. When Oboro's grandmother and Iga leader Ogen, and Gennesuke's father and Koga leader Danjo, kill each other, Oboro and Gennesuke must lead their warriors in an epic battle between the Shinobi clans.
