A range war is orchestrated by Cole's henchman Anders between cattlemen and sheepmen on the Delaney ranch. When Anders kills Delaney, he attempts to murder his daughter Jill and Roy, who has been sent to investigate the conflict. Despite these failed attempts, Roy gains the insight he needs to proceed.
