In early 20th century Russia, Czar Nicholas II and his wife Alexandra search for a cure for their son Alexei's hemophilia, as conventional medicine fails to help. They turn to Father Grigory Rasputin, a charismatic monk who claims to have a special connection to the Czar, and his unorthodox healing methods.
