Rasputin background

Rasputin

In 19th century Russia, a powerful and enigmatic figure gains significant influence over the court of Czar Nicholas II.

In early 20th century Russia, Czar Nicholas II and his wife Alexandra search for a cure for their son Alexei's hemophilia, as conventional medicine fails to help. They turn to Father Grigory Rasputin, a charismatic monk who claims to have a special connection to the Czar, and his unorthodox healing methods. Despite initial skepticism, Rasputin's presence in the palace has a profound impact on Alexei, but his reckless behavior and moral decay eventually strain the already fragile relationships between the royal family and their subjects.
