Paradise East background

Paradise East

A 20th-century family faces numerous challenges as they strive to make a living, with the family's coffee shop owner, Lucky, facing an especially difficult path forward.

A desperately dysfunctional, lower middle class family struggles to make it in the twentieth century. The family's patriarch, Lucky, runs a coffee shop and deals with his two sons' idiosyncrasies. Ernie, the oldest, is a wannabe pimp and street hustler, while Chip, the baby, is unemployed and obsessed with french fries and underaged girls. The family's dynamics are further complicated by the arrival of Jane, a luscious older woman who seduces Lucky and begins an affair, despite his previous relationship with Gina, a waitress from his uncle's restaurant. The family's struggles are also influenced by their parish priest, who offers guidance and advice on faith and temptation.
