As they trek across the desert, Kathy becomes concerned about her father's safety and enlists the help of Allan Quartermain to lead a rescue mission. After surviving the harsh desert conditions, they encounter a tribe and meet their chief, Twala. However, things take a surprising turn when it's revealed that Umbopa, the guide, is actually the rightful heir to the throne, having been exiled by Twala and the tribal witch, Gagool.
