US soldiers embark on a treacherous mission to infiltrate enemy territory, driven by their quest for a coveted stash of Nazi treasure.
World War II German Colonel Dankhopf is captured by Americans, but an artillery barrage hits the camp before interrogation. Lieutenant Kelly, played by Clint Eastwood, rescues the Colonel, gets him drunk, and learns about a secret mission to ship 16 million dollars of gold to France. Kelly decides to steal the gold with a few fellow soldiers.
