A young boy named Jan Dara grows up in a Bangkok household ruled by his cruel and immoral stepfather, Luang Wisnan, in the 1930s. After his mother's death during childbirth, Jan is rejected by his stepfather and seeks refuge with his wealthy grandmother in Phijit.
