A neurotic writer, Noah, lives in his mother's New York townhouse, but his life is turned upside down when his childhood friend Daniel moves in to start a psychiatry practice. Despite Daniel being straight, Noah becomes his "patient" and the lines between doctor and patient, and friend and foe, become increasingly blurred.
