Clay Pride: Being Clay in America background

Clay Pride: Being Clay in America

As a 31-year-old, Steve Thompson sets out to redefine himself, drawing parallels between his life and the malleable nature of clay.

Steve, a 31-year-old clay, shares his struggles with feeling different and being picked on in school, believing it was his fault. His father, Lance, recalls how Steve used to cope with his struggles by playing with a clay bar. In contrast, "Mr. X" reminisces about the 1970s when being clay was considered cool. However, Steve finds solace in a support group, "It's okay to be clay," where he begins to accept himself and finds support from his father.
