A condemned man is granted a reprieve on the condition that he kills a rancher for a railway company. He arrives at the ranch, but is unable to carry out the murder and leaves. However, the rancher's wife mistakenly kills him during an argument and joins forces with the would-be assassin. The rancher, still alive and enraged, teams up with his employers to track down the pair.
