In the thriller, a Parisian café owner has 10 days to repay a large sum of money he embezzled, or face imprisonment. He concocts a plan to have a penniless American pretend to be a Russian prince, woo a wealthy American woman, and secure the funds he needs. However, things don't go as smoothly as planned, and the American's lack of acting skills, the real Russian prince's unexpected arrival, and the blossoming romance between the two leads threaten to derail the scheme.
