Malayalam director Amal Neerad's new film Anwar, starring Prithviraj, delves into the topical issue of youth being recruited by terror modules in Kerala. The movie follows Anwar, an orphan serving a jail term for money laundering, who is taken under the wing of a religious leader cum businessman accused of masterminding a bomb blast. As Anwar becomes embroiled in the leader's illicit activities, he is joined by a young woman Ayesha, who is suspected of providing raw materials for the explosives. The film's climax may be a bit rushed, but overall, it leaves a strong impact, with standout performances from Prithviraj and Mamta Mohandas.
