Watch Grandpa Goes to Town

The Higgins family invests in a hotel in Coyote Wells, Nevada, only to discover it's a ghost town inhabited by mobsters. They mistake two actors playing prospectors for real miners, leading to a gold rush that transforms the town into a boomtown. However, when the miners fail to find gold, they turn on the family, and Grandpa must use his wit to save them. He salts the abandoned mine with gold dust, and a subsequent explosion uncovers a rich vein of gold. But the gangsters, who are hiding in the mine, take everyone hostage, and it's up to Grandpa to convince the movie extras, dressed as Indians, to stage a raid and free the miners.
