Vincent moves to Auvers-sur-Oise, near Paris, to live with Dr. Gachet in a humble inn. He spends his days painting landscapes and portraits, and his evenings socializing with locals, including Gachet's daughter Marguerite, a young maid, and a Parisian prostitute.
