Twentieth Century

Broadway director Oscar Jaffe, a charismatic ham, builds a successful career through sheer drive and talent. However, when one of his discoveries, Lily Garland, rises to stardom and heads to Hollywood, Oscar's career begins to decline. He hits rock bottom, but finds a second chance when he reunites with Lily on the Twentieth Century Limited train. Oscar pulls out all the stops to re-sign his former star, but Lily, equally temperamental, is resistant to her mentor's advances.
