Mona, struggling to cope with grief and depression after her father's passing, becomes increasingly isolated, leaving her teaching job and pushing away loved ones. Despite her emotional numbness, she's watched over by a group of comic extraterrestrial beings who orchestrate chance encounters that bring her closer to others. These connections include a neighbor boy, his mother, and his piano teacher, as well as an elevator operator and Ms. Hadaway, a widow who helps Mona on her journey to express her emotions.
