The 1934 movie has minimal connection to the original 1932 film, but it does incorporate lifted footage, including scenes of vine-swinging and a yell, both reminiscent of Weissmuller's Tarzan. The film also features tinted footage of elephants destroying a pygmy village, which was originally populated by real people, but in this version, the "pygmies" are actually children from Fairfax High School. The costumes used are leftovers from "King Solomon's Mines", allowing for the inclusion of more stock footage. Additionally, the crocodile fight scene is taken directly from "Tarzan and his Mate".
