Kenya McQueen, a successful African-American CPA, is encouraged by friends to break out of her routine and explore new experiences. She accepts a blind date with Brian, an architectural landscaper, but is initially put off by his whiteness. Despite this, they meet again and Kenya hires Brian to landscape her new home. As they grow closer, Kenya's concerns about how their relationship will be perceived by her friends and family threaten to tear them apart.
