A group of protesters, including Lucy, gather outside a prison to protest the imminent execution of a mentally disabled man who is accused of killing a police officer. Lucy meets Mercy, a lawyer, who is at the protest with her parents, a police officer, in support of the execution. Later, Lucy learns more about Mercy and decides to reach out to her.
