Ralph Crumden and Ned Morton, two rodents, return home late from a night out, dreading their wives' reactions. On their way, they inadvertently annoy a cat, who tracks them down and launches a surprise attack. Believing they're being scolded by their wives, they're left confused and frightened in the dark.
