At Camp Hope, 11-year-old Gerry Garner, an overweight boy from Long Island, finds himself among other boys with similar struggles. However, when the camp's new owner, Tony Perkis, takes over, he imposes harsh weight loss measures and plans to use the campers' transformations for an infomercial. The campers, led by Gerry and counselor Pat Finley, must band together to overthrow Tony and focus on winning the Apache Relay against their arch-rival camp, Camp MVP.
