Girls Rock! background

Girls Rock!

The documentary "Rock 'n' Roll Camp for Girls" follows the empowerment journey of four young girls who find their voice and confidence through music at a special summer camp, where they learn to take control of their lives and pursue their passions.

Girls of all ages at Rock 'n' Roll Camp are encouraged to be themselves, play instruments, and write songs without fear of judgment. They learn empowerment lessons from indie rock women, including self-defense and anger management, and perform a concert for over 700 people. The film follows three campers: Laura, a Korean adoptee who loves death metal; Misty, who overcame addiction and homelessness; and Amelia, an 8-year-old who writes experimental rock songs about her dog.
