The documentary Fools and Dreamers tells the story of botanist Hugh Wilson, who dedicated 30 years to regenerating marginal farmland into native forest as the manager of Hinewai Nature Reserve. With the help of the Maurice White Native Forest Trust, Hugh successfully transformed over 1500 hectares of land into thriving native forest, waterways, and wildlife habitats using a minimal interference method.
