Brent Barrymore, a discontent director, is forced to watch a terrible play every night for three weeks, with a small audience in a forgotten theater. His frustration is compounded by suspicions that his wife and production manager, Nadine, is having an affair with his incompetent lead actor, Marcus. However, the theater's long-serving janitor, Malcolm MacDowell, knows a dark secret from the past that could help Brent overcome his troubles, but it requires him to get involved in something sinister.
