Michael Grey, an unethical lawyer, defends a criminal in court, risking his career by secretly hiring a thug to intimidate a key witness. His plan backfires when the witness is murdered, along with their family. Sentenced to prison, Michael is subjected to abuse by the Warden and guard Ray Clement, who mistakenly accuse him of murder. As Michael navigates his new reality, he begins to experience supernatural visions and is haunted by the ghost of his deceased client. A government agent, Audrey Davis, arrives to investigate the prison, but Michael's fate is complicated by the dispute between God and the devil over his soul.
