In a small mountain town plagued by abductions and murders, a reclusive writer named Paul grapples with writer's block while trying to write a screenplay that could revive his career. A chance encounter with a drifter named Jack at a diner leads Paul to offer him a place to stay, and soon Jack's presence disrupts Paul's life.
