Wabash Avenue background

Wabash Avenue

In the late 19th century, a Chicago dance hall's dual owners, Andy Clark and Mike, clash over a disputed claim of ownership, leading to a bitter feud. Meanwhile, Andy secretly seeks to undermine Mike's power while pursuing Ruby Summers, a captivating and talented performer.

In 1892 Chicago, Andy Clark discovers he was deceived out of his rightful half-share in a successful dance hall business owned by his partner Mike. Determined to reclaim his stake, Andy concocts a plan to make Mike's position unsustainable, while also seeking to elevate Ruby Summers, the dance hall's outspoken burlesque queen, into a more refined performer and potentially his own love interest. However, his scheme ultimately falls apart at the last minute.
