Fifteen years after Shin Asuka's disappearance through a black hole, a space station has been established on Mars in his honor. The station is suddenly attacked by Granspheres, but a young pilot named Taiga quickly repels the invaders. In the aftermath, Taiga is drawn into a Fortress-like Ship of an alien force, trapping him and other Granspheres before disappearing.
