In a New York City park, a mentally ill composer and father of a police officer, Romulus, lives in a cave. When a young man freezes to death in a nearby tree, Romulus becomes convinced that the photographer, David Leppenraub, is responsible. Despite his hallucinations, Romulus sets out to catch the killer and make a breakthrough with his daughter.
