Two shoeshine boys, Pasquale and Giuseppe, dream of owning their own horse and work to save up. They meet Giuse's older brother Attilio, who gets them involved in a shady business deal. However, things take a turn when Attilio's gang steals from a fortuneteller, and the boys are caught up in a web of deceit and betrayal. As they face the consequences, they become separated and struggle to maintain their friendship amidst the challenges they face.
