A gang of supposed Confederates, led by Alex Morel, raids gold shipments bound for Washington from Oro Grande, California, during the Civil War. Captain Steve Clark, a Union Secret Service agent, and his friend Idaho Jones, a Wells Fargo detective, investigate the gang's activities, discovering they are actually Prussian spies. As they gather clues, Steve's brother is killed and he uncovers the gang's hideout at Morel's saloon. With the help of the San Francisco Secret Service, Steve and Idaho ultimately round up the spies.
