Dennis Pitt, a young adult, is released from a psychiatric hospital after being institutionalized for an incident at 15. Despite being deemed rehabilitated, he must check in with his case officer weekly. However, Dennis moves to Winslow, Massachusetts, and gets a job at Sausenfeld Chemical Co. without telling his case officer. Unbeknownst to his colleagues and acquaintances, Dennis believes the company is part of an alien conspiracy to poison the water supply.
