Montana background

Montana

A tough Australian sheep herder ventures into Montana in search of new grazing lands, only to face fierce resistance from local ranchers and a dominant cattle mogul.

Morgan Lane, an Australian sheep-man, arrives in Montana seeking government-owned grazing land. He sets up his sheep at the boundary line, established by cattle barons to protect their land from sheep. Morgan poses as a merchant in town, where he meets Maria Singleton, a ranch owner and fiancée of Rodney Ackroyd, a rival rancher. As Morgan and Maria grow closer, their romance is threatened by the ongoing feud between cattle and sheep men. The conflict comes to a head in a dramatic showdown gunfight.
