A former Ranger's stolen horse sets off a chain reaction of financial struggles for the town's banker, who must turn to a local stable owner for help to avoid economic ruin.

In this western, a group of outlaws, led by Ed Hooper, steal a horse from former Ranger Johnny Mack Brown. The theft causes financial troubles for the town banker, Fred Allison, who is forced to borrow from Hooper. Johnny tracks down the gang and recovers his stolen horse, but is then thrown in jail by an imposter posing as a Marshal.
