The film takes place on December 8th, 2007, in Xiaoxihu cemetery, Karamay, where a series of grave photographs show only children. Thirteen years prior, a devastating fire broke out at Friendship Hall, killing 323 people, including 288 children aged 6-14, while education officials escaped. The tragedy was heavily censored in Chinese media, and families have not publicly mourned their children.
