Two fur trappers, Abel and Henry Iron, fight to survive in a declining industry in the Rocky Mountains, following in their late father's footsteps. They venture into the wilderness, searching for beaver and trying to make a living. After a misunderstanding with a group of Shoshone Indians leaves one Indian dead, the brothers flee into the mountains to escape the pursuing warriors, ultimately testing the strength of their brotherly bond.
