A young student, Lyudmila Pavlichenko, enlists in the army in 1941 after the war breaks out. She proves to be a natural-born sniper, impressing everyone with her skills. However, the German High Command sees her as a threat and orders her elimination. Despite this, Lyudmila finds love and even gets a visit to the United States, where she meets Eleanor Roosevelt and becomes close. Later, she speaks in Chicago, urging for a second front in the war.
