Natsumi, a 23-year-old pastry chef in training, travels to Iwate Prefecture for her boyfriend's grandmother's 77th birthday. When the grandmother falls ill, Natsumi's boyfriend is asked to take over the family ryokan, leading him to reconsider their plans to get married. Instead, Natsumi surprises him by vowing to become the ryokan's okami herself.
