In the midst of war in Helmand, Afghanistan, a 25-year-old soldier named Thomas is severely injured after stepping on a landmine. He finds himself at a rehabilitation center, where he meets Sofie, a talented ballerina from the Royal Danish Ballet, who is helping a loved one recover from a long-term illness. As Thomas struggles to regain his strength and return to the battlefield, he becomes frustrated with his slow progress. However, with Sofie's guidance, he begins to see improvement and develops a deep connection with her.
