Barbara "Babs" Penfield tries to convince her father to invest in her boyfriend's proposition, but he refuses, suspecting the boyfriend is a fortune hunter. Babs then tries to sell her car to raise cash, but the thief Con Cornelius sells it to Jerry Bassett, who has just won the Penfield Prize for Service. Jerry meets Babs on the road and gives her a lift to the resort where her boyfriend is waiting for financial help. Eventually, Babs sees her boyfriend for who he really is and decides to marry Jerry, a true laundryman who can keep the family business running.
