A struggling Broadway performer, Bill Miller, finds success when his handlers suggest he incorporate a stooge, Ted Rogers, into his act. However, Ted's natural comedic talent quickly eclipses Bill's own abilities, leading Bill's friends and girlfriend to urge him to make Ted a full partner in the show. As Bill and Ted's partnership grows, they face new challenges and conflicts.
