The Naked and the Dead

During World War 2, officers in the Pacific live a life of comfort, with good food, drink, and quarters, viewing war as a game they're sure to win. Meanwhile, common soldiers are seen as pawns. When the campaign slows, a Commander sends a squad to a mountain behind enemy lines to report on Japanese troop movements. Led by a tough, cynical Sergeant, the squad is tasked with completing the mission, despite the Lieutenant's initial reluctance.
