Pride & Protest background

Pride & Protest

Queer journalists of color unite to tackle homophobia and racism within the LGBTQ+ community, inspired by protests against LGBTQ+ relationship education in Birmingham's primary schools.

A team of queer community reporters from diverse backgrounds in West London came together to challenge persecution and discrimination faced by QPOC, sharing their life journeys in a documentary project. This led to the formation of Rainbow Films, a volunteer-led collective championed by Make A Difference Entertainment. The film PRIDE and PROTEST explores conversations about racism within the queer community, intersectionality, and visible diversity in mainstream society.
