Blindness disproportionately affects people in remote, impoverished areas, while the medical professionals who can cure it are often based in cities. A Nepalese doctor, Sanduk Ruit, and his American partner, Geoff Tabin, have dedicated their careers to developing a portable, low-cost surgery to restore sight. They travel to Nepal's remote Northeast, carrying a makeshift hospital on the backs of porters, to bring hope and sight to those who needlessly suffer in darkness.
