Les damnés de la mer background

Les damnés de la mer

A battle is brewing in Morocco as small-scale fishermen and coastal communities are being exploited by massive foreign fishing vessels that have dominated the industry.

The small-scale fishing communities of Morocco's coastal cities, including Essaouira, Safi, and Agadir, are forced to migrate to Dakhla in the Sahara in search of dwindling fish stocks. As they face a desperate struggle, they are confronted with the devastating impact of foreign trawlers, whose destructive fishing practices ravage the marine ecosystem.
