The Damnwells, a Brooklyn-based rock band, formed in 2001 when a photo assistant, Alex Dezen, asked friends to record songs with him. By 2004, they signed with Epic Records (Sony/BMG) and began recording their first professional album in March 2005. However, their release date was repeatedly delayed, and in 2006, they were released from their contract, leaving the album's fate uncertain.
