A struggling comedian and bicycle messenger, Lance Barton, has his life turned upside down when an emissary from heaven mistakenly plucks him from a traffic accident before it happens. As a result, Lance finds himself in the Pearly Gates, where he's forced to occupy the body of a wealthy old white mogul until a more suitable one can be found. Despite the challenges, Lance works on his streetwise comedy routine and falls in love with a woman battling his new body's company, all while navigating a web of deceit and betrayal.
